What customers say?

“ Friends took me to The Tillerman for my birthday, and we ordered nearly the entire menu (truly) and somehow had zero notes. Every single dish was delicious. I’m still dreaming about the winter salad and the bolognese with handmade pasta. The wine list is incredible, and a few of my friends couldn’t stop raving about the mocktails. And the winter citrus pavlova? Absolutely stunning. From the moment you walk in, this place feels like a warm hug. The fireplace glowing, the staff genuinely smiling, the whole atmosphere cozy and welcoming. The chef is adventurous, but the food is deeply comforting, and you’ll leave happily full in the very best way. I love this place. It’s my number one recommendation for anyone visiting the area and my go-to spot for a special night with friends. ”

“ Had a wonderful experience at the Tillerman in late October. Stayed for 5 days at the Inn and dined at the restaurant twice. All staff were lovely and accommodating. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and plentiful, particularly the pastries. The lounge with the fireplace was very warm and cozy, even with diners adjacent to the seating it felt very homely. The room had no TV which was ideal for us. Definitely considering the location for our future wedding! ”

“ Lovely spot. Good pizza. Hot honey pepperoni and mortadella. Roasted carrots-tagliatelle-chicken liver mousse. All very good. Maybe not the "best" ever. Very good. Drinks were all excellent. Nice beer and wine offerings as well. Beautiful, cozy interior. Would love to return ”

“ As long-time fans, we were thrilled when our daughter and her (now!) husband decided that they wanted to have their wedding at the Tillerman. Always great food, top-notch staff and the most charming space imaginable with attentive, caring owners at the helm felt like a recipe for success and indeed, it was an impossibly perfect day. The Tillerman is so much more than a venue. It is a place that has been thoughtfully designed - not too much, not too little, but just right. And that “just right” feeling is imbued in all aspects of the place. The food - inventive but not fussy, letting the fresh local ingredients shine. Perfectly timed, perfect temperature and texture. The staff is the best in the business - always there when you need them, warm and welcoming, knowledgeable, but relaxed. The pictures don’t do justice to the beauty of the place. It is a place to be felt. And I know that the feeling in that very special place and all of the just right touches - in the grounds and the gardens, the sweetest ceremony spot imaginable, the barn and the cozy, the string lights and the firepit - all of it contributed to the overarching joy and love that our guests couldn’t stop talking about. We are so very grateful to Jason & Kate, Taylor, Kenzie and the whole crew who put heart and soul into making that unforgettable day soar. ”

“ My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and absolutely loved it. The room was cozy and beautifully done- including the great smelling Vermont soaps provided (I ordered some for home use!). We also loved the bedding! The breakfast was delicious- an assortment of maple yogurt, fruit, pastry, and eggs. The staff was so nice and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed and also providing great Vermont recommendations. We also made reservations for dinner at the restaurant for our last night here and the food was incredible- highlighting fresh, local produce. Definitely make sure to dine here for dinner during your stay! They also happened to have live music outside during our last night- which was so much fun!! We’re already talking about our next trip to Vermont and will definitely be staying at the Tillerman again! ”

“ Romantic, dreamy, secluded spot in Bristol. A friend and I came for dinner reservation on a Saturday night and it did not disappoint. So many little nooks to explore and take in. I could not imagine being here for a wedding- it’s so beautiful. The food and cocktails were a 12/10. So fresh, bursting with flavor, unique combos and ingredients. Service was exceptional- shoutout to Will who was extremely welcoming! We plan to come back asap and our friends and family now want to all go too. I’d love to stay here next time! ”

“ 8-21-24. I had to try this highly acclaimed pizza restaurant. Will, Peter and my waitress? Attended to me. I had to make a reservation to sit at the bar that I was the only one at and told to sit in a specific bar stool. An extremely limited menu with even fewer toppings for the pizzas. A HUGE wine list. I went with the pepperoni pizza with a mixed drink and the sorbet for dessert. I also bought a t-shirt. The havea free concert each Wednesday, so I stuck around and listened for a song. It was raining like crazy, but we were in a barn with benches and lighting. An added plus to a nice experience. ”

“ I don't normally take the time to write reviews, but the Tillerman was awesome and you should visit for a meal. The space is incredibly inviting and cozy. We visited in late summer and I was actually blown away by the meal - the freshness, quality, and cohesiveness of the menu was excellent. It's the best wine list I've seen in Vermont to date, the sommelier was knowledgeable and vivacious. This was one of my dinner highlights of the year. And I live in NYC, so I don't say these things lightly. Enjoy! ”
